INPATIENT MEDICAL ASSOCIATES (IMA) serves Nyack Hospital, a 325- bed level II trauma center with an average daily census of 90 patients; Saint Barnabas Medical Center, a 597-bed, tertiary care teaching hospital with an average daily census of 60 patients; and Overlook Medical Center, a 504-bed community hospital with an average daily census of 58 patients.

SERVICES: IMA’s team of internal and family medicine physicians, NPs, PAs, and pediatricians provide the full range of inpatient care. Hospitalists provide rapid response and code coverage on inpatients and consultative medical care to medical and surgical specialists.

SCHEDULE AND COVERAGE: IMA offers flexible scheduling with a seven-on/seven-off 12-hour schedule, Monday through Sun- day, or eight- to 10-hour shifts. Typically, full-time staff works 12- hour shifts to provide the best level of continuity for patients.

COMPENSATION: Recruiting both full- and part-time practitioners, including NPs and PAs with hospitalist experience, IMA offers a competitive compensation package.

The organization tracks profitability, daily encounters per provider, quality standards, and both patient and physician satisfaction within its metrics for incentive compensation. In addition, professional development for staff and leadership teams is emphasized.

LOCAL HIGHLIGHTS: Nyack Hospital is convenient to northern New Jersey and Westchester, N.Y. The area features a beautiful riverfront, first-class school system and fine art galleries. Saint Barnabas Medical Center, 30 minutes from New York City, is close to suburban shopping, nightlife and desirable schools. Overlook Medical Center is 30 minutes from New York City and 40 minutes from New Jersey beaches.
